FAQ
1. My video doesn’t fit into a specific category, can I still submit it?
Absolutely! Our categories are used for judging purposes. If your video doesn’t conform to our category standards, it will still be considered for a technical achievement award, or our “Best in Fest” award.
2.How many videos can I submit?
How many can you make?
3. I have a great video, but I’m not going to have it finished by the deadline! Can I submit it anyway?
No, thats what deadlines are for! However, we’d be happy to consider it for S2F2 2010.
4.Can I get my DVD back?
No, so be sure to make a second one for yourself.
6.Can I send a VHS tape?
No. No VHS, no Betamax, no 8mm, 16mm, or 35mm film. No laserdiscs, VCDs, or Viewmaster slides. Just a DVD or CD with a .mov, .avi, or .dv file. Thanks.
7.We filmed a experiment in our science class. Which category should we submit to?
Sounds like a documentary to us! However if you’re highlighting the personal struggle of a bunsen burner to overcome adversity, maybe you’ve got a narrative.
8.I’m a teacher who has videotaped my class presentation of “Taming of the Shrew”. Is this a suitable video for the festival?
Unfortunately, aside from exceeding our time limits, we’re also looking for original student work. But we love Shakespeare, so please invite us to the show.
9. Can we submit a film that is not in english?
Our festival is multicultural, and we welcome films in any language. We do request, however, that you subtitle your film in English.
10.I don’t live in Shanghai, may I still submit a film?
Absolutely. It will be considered for recognition in our International
category.
