Once again, students and schools throughout the region are preparing themselves for the 3rd annual Shanghai Student Film Festival. The Shanghai Student Film Festival (S2F2) is an event sponsored by schools throughout the region in which students are provided with a forum for their artistry in the work of film and video. The event will be hosted on April 23rd, 2010 at Shanghai Community International School’s Hongqiao campus and will be a gala event, bringing in students throughout the region for the awards ceremony.
This year promises to be bigger than ever, with entrants from not just schools around Shanghai, but schools throughout China and the region, in addition to new and exciting prizes for the best entrants.
Here’s how S2F2 works: Students put together their own films; they can range from traditional narrative films (as your average Hollywood or Bollywood blockbuster might be), documentaries (true stories), or art films (including music videos, animations, and any other “unclassifiable” work of art that your average student might produce), and, once students have filled out our entry form, they will submit their work to the festival. S2F2 will accept all entries and then our esteemed panel of judges (including educators, people in the industry, and other distinguished artists) will have a look at the nominated entries and determine awards based upon both artistic merit and technical achievement.
With workshops, special events, and an amazing headline event, S2F2 is going to be an event not to be missed for students throughout the region. It doesn’t matter whether or not you’re in Shanghai, we’re interested in seeing your finished product and giving you the opportunity to show everyone how talented you are as a filmmaker. If you’re interested in showing your stuff, download an entry form from our website, read over the rules, and get started making your work of art.
